Does American Airlines offer shuttle bus trips to exact locations

Does American Airlines offer shuttle bus trips to exact locations?
I am booking a flight to Dallas, on Orbitz.com. It is with American Airlines, 2 weeks from now. They offer shuttle bus trips to Downtown Dallas/downtown Ft. Worth/Arlington/Irving/Galleria, all for $18. I need a bus ride to a specific address. Does anyone know if they offer rides to specific places? Does anyone have suggestions of other inexpensive options? I just need a one way ride, and I can wait 4 hours to get there, if I have to. Thank you very much!

idk.. but if no you could always use a taxy

The airline bus service will take you to downtown hotels only. You should look at booking something like Super Shuttle. They are not too expensive and they will take you to an exact address.

How good is Lufthansa airlines

How good is Lufthansa airlines?
I have a flight from Dallas,TX to Frakfurt,Germany on Friday the 19th. I've never flown Lufthansa and I was wondering is it an exceptional airline? i usually fly on Royal Jordanian to Amman, cause thats my final destination. I hear Lufthansa is much better than Royal Jordanian. But just how good is it?

Lufthansa is good. There is suitable leg room for me (I'm 6'2''), the food is simple but good, and service is excellent. I have never flown Royal Jordanian, but Lufthansa tops Air France, United, American, and numerous other major airlines.
2 :
just how good is it? STELLAR. If you are going on to Amman on RJ, you will be comparing the service; you tell me, when you come back, which you thought was better! btw, check in online if you can, might save you some time standing in line at airport; even though you have to stop at counter, there's a separate line for folks who checked in online. Guten Flug!
3 :
I flew Lufthansa to Germany two years ago. I suggest bringing your own food to snack on, theirs made my stomach super upset. It was good though, if you have a tolerant stomach (I thought I did) Their seats are nice, not too cozy with your neighbors, good foot space... Very nice.
4 :
they will take you from point A to point B, like any other airline. No fancy stuff on any carriers, unless you fly Business or First Class.
5 :
Lufthansa is a very good airline. They have modern aircraft, nice seats, good food, very nice staff and like all germans they are always punctual
6 :
Lufthansa is an excellent airline. They received 4 stars on the Skytrax rating. (http://www.airlinequality.com). You will enjoy your flight if you go with Lufthansa.

How do I get rid of jet-lag

How do I get rid of jet-lag?
I returened home two days ago from Japan and I have had the worst days ever coming back. I ate once yesterday, my stomach feels all queasy and gross, and I can't stay asleep. Coming home I took a 12 hour bus from Aomori to Narita Airport near Tokyo, then 12 hour flight from Tokyo to Dallas, then 3.5 hour flight from Dallas to Hartford, then a one hour drive home. First night home I woke up at 5am, and 2nd night I woke up at 6am. I've been going to bed at midnight, but that's only because I'm working at my church this week. Yesterday, at 6pm I wanted to crash and sleep, but that's when I was at church and I couldn't. Anything I can do to get rid of this? It massively sucks and because I work in the kitchen in the heat with this summer weather and not being able to eat, it's not a good combination. Help?

Hey Im getting ready to leave Spain, for good, finally, not that i don't like it, but been here long enough,,,,work,,,,but, you have to eat, 3 times a day, for just awhile, then go back to how you normally eat, and then you just have to get the propper rest, one way or the other, i mean hey, u have to just get the rest, and you need to eat more, believe me, after 5 ano's over here, and not even from here, plus, goin home, bout every yr?!! i know exactly what you are going thru, and well it's not evennnnnn fun,,,,,sooooo u just have to get it together, somehow someway, cuz if you don't ? It will take a lot lotttttttt longer, to get yourself back on track,,,, you are backwards, or your body is that is, your brain, is use to Japan, n well til it gets back on track? I REALLY FEEL FOR YOU, I am going to go thru the same thing, here in bout a month, do not look forward to it! Maybe, you could go to a Dr. and get something, to sleep, when you are not working, and but the eating part, and sleep, is SOOOOO IMPROTANT, GOOD LUCK, eser59
2 :
I travel insane amounts, and live in both the USA and Australia. I am almost never jet lagged since I read about this simple trick. Sunlight is the key. Set out in the sun long enough to give your body a sense of the sun moving across the sky (about an hour). This resets your internal clock. It's really that easy. Trust me you will be feeling better soon.
3 :
Taking melatonin to reduce jet lag is probably the safest and best-tested use of the hormone to date. Some of the advice below will obviously not help you THIS TIME, but I will include it anyway. Pick up the advice wherever you are in your travel schedule. When traveling east, on the day of your flight, take one dose of melatonin, as directed on the bottle, between 6 and 7 p.m. your time; you may have to take the melatonin on the plane. On the day you arrive and for the next four days, take one dose of melatonin at bedtime (between 9 and 10 p.m.) local time of where you now are. When traveling west, melatonin will not help much if you travel less than five time zones to the west. For distances, on the day you arrive, take one dose of melatonin at local time bedtime and continue to do so for the next four days. If you wake up before 4 a.m., go ahead and take a little more melatonin (one or one-half dose) so you can get a complete night's sleep. Try to get "fast-acting" melatonin (it will say this on the label), or if you know from experience that the effects will not wear off before you need to be up. And, if you're traveling further west in less than four days' time, take melatonin at bedtime the night before leaving. Then repeat the whole schedule again at your new location.
4 :
Been there, done that ! You're getting there. It's daytime there, and nighttime here and you came back with the Sun shining all the way, and couldn't move around much, and slept and awoke to movies playing, and the sound and compression were constant. Your body went through alot, and you need to just take it easy and let your body (not your plans) tell you what to do next. I found that walking around my neighborhood with a bottle of gatorade helped. It was a weird feeling, but I did it anyway.

If I fly on a private airline

If I fly on a private airline?
The flight from Dallas, Tx to Bordeaux, France usually takes about 8-9.5 hours if I travel commercially, if I decided to fly on a personal jet how much time will I knock if any? Total time?
Air Travel - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
45 mintues to 1 hr.
2 :
The jet might actually take longer due to passengers with huge dense heads thinking it's cool to talk about flying on a personal jet.
3 :
Depending on what type of aircraft you will fly in it may actually take longer the smaller biz jets don't have the range so you would probably refuel in Toronto or Montreal. Top up the tanks in Gander refuel in Iceland and then again in Scotland and then on to Bordeaux.
4 :
If you knock anytime off of this flight, it will only be the time spent checking in and boarding. Commercial jets are considerably quicker since they can fly at higher altitudes.

The Lakers were actually at one point the Minneapolis Lakers so that actually makes sense. The Washington Presidents would be a good fit with the rest of the sports teams (Capitals, Nationals, not so much Redskins but still...) The Clippers aren't very forceful so that would be funny in itself. The rest are a bit off. Sorry guy.

The hornets-jazz swap makes the most sense. I like the Memphis change, too. The others don't seem that great.

Can I board a plane with a fever

Can I board a plane with a fever?
Because I happened to catch a cold a couple days before my flight to Dallas, Texas, and my dad warned me if I have a high fever, I canot board the plane. Is this true? If it is, please tell me the maximum body temperature I can have (farenheit). I have a 99.2 degree body temperature. Will I be able to catch a flight?
Air Travel - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Though you may be able to catch the flight, it is probably irresponsible considering all the people you are putting at risk of infection. My advice is to wait till you are better and then take the flight. You'll feel better too.
2 :
As long as you know for sure it isn't the swine flu. 99.2 isn't a very high temp and people fly with colds all the time. You may have trouble with your ears on take off and landing. I've never seen anybody having their temp. taken before a flight. My daughter came down with chicken pox while on vacation once and we had to fly home with her covered in spots!
3 :
I would not sit next to you.
4 :
yeah that's fine, as long its not over 100
5 :
You can board the plane. And, 99.2 is not a fever.
6 :
If you have a fever, you probably have an infection, and it's probably contagious, so boarding a flight is irresponsible; if you are seriously ill, you could even be held liable for recklessly endangering others. Apart from that, if you are sick with a respiratory infection, you may have serious problems trying to equalize the pressure in your ears during the flight, leading to excruciating pain and (in rare, extreme cases) rupture of the eardrum. It's also very unpleasant to be sick AND in an airplane, when you'd be much more comfortable in bed. A cold won't produce a fever, by the way, and it usually resolves on its own within a week. You're contagious for the first few days. If you have a fever, it's something more than a cold (like the flu).
7 :
Some airports have thermal scanners that detect temperatures that are a little higher than normal. You are taken aside and questioned. I had the same problem with an international flight, I took some aspirins and lowered my temperature and passed the pass-fail on the thermal scanners. I did not have any flu just a normal case of sniffles and slight fever. You do know that more people die of ordinary flu each year than those who have died of this "swine flu!" Bring some hand sanitizer with you to protect yourself and others.

FSX- How to create a 2nd Flight Planner after you already completed your 1st one.?
So i just completed my IFR flight plan and journey from Dallas to Miami. I did the takeoff, cruise, descent, approach, landed, and taxi to the gate given to me by ATC. Now i want to take off from Miami and maybe go to Charlotte. How do i create a new flight plan and start off at the exact position i am at. I don't want to start at a new gate or on an active runway. I want to use the exist same aircraft in the same exact spot.

Follow these simple instruction 1. Hit "Alt" on your keyboard while in your parked at the gate (A menu should pop up at the top). 2. Then click flights at the top right hand corner of your screen 3. Then you want to click "Flight planner" and make your flight like you normally would hit "ok" 4. It will ask you "Do you want to move your aircraft to the departure airport and hit NO. Then you'll be back to your aircraft 5. Then when you open your ATC menu it should said *Clearance. Get your clearance and there you go! (How about 10 points best answer) *The airport your in or the center you are in.

Need to find cheap last minute flight

Need to find cheap last minute flight!!?
I am looking for a roundrip flight from Dallas to Orlando (or the vicinity). Depart-This Thursday, Feb 17 Return-Sunday Feb 20 Any suggestions? I have tried: Hotwire Priceline Southwest Orbitz Travelocity Travelzoo Expedia etc etc. The cheapest I am finding is $500-600 per ticket (I need 2). Uh, this is a serious question.....I've googled, looked everywhere. And where I spend my points is my business, not yours. Have a nice day!

Airline ticket prices go UP the closer to the flight, and are least expensive the earlier you book -- you are, unfortunately, in the position of last minute flight ticket shopping. Since you have already checked the usual sources and haven't found the price range you want, I doubt you will find anything less expensive. Sorry!
3 :
The cheapest flight I can find is about the same price as you, that would be with Delta with one connection in Memphis. I am sorry but that is the cheapest I can see.
4 :
I would check with AirTran and see if http://www.kayak.com has anything but nothing will be cheap and if you wait any longer, that $500-$600 ticket will seem cheap.

what to do in airport while wating

2 :
Uhm, bring a book with you? Or if you have a laptop, bring it and watch a movie. I would go with the book though, kind of sad it wasnt already included on your list of items. You can also watch for hot women, the airport tends to have a good number of them. That can also be a good way to pass time :)
3 :
Well there is always crosswords and word search, there's psp, I'm sure there is stores to check out and see wats new etc.
4 :
There may be a tv or movie on the flight - and it can be fun to look out the window if you have a window seat. Take a book, puzzles/games, etc.
5 :
Bring a book ... wander through the consierge shop & gift shop. Grab your bag - set it under your legs and take a nap in one of the chairs... some airports have an internet cafe where you can log-in and check your email & surf. Find a nice corner and start sketching... Pick up on a hot guy/girl and strike up a conversation... Go to the bar and order non-alcoholic drinks while you play some darts or something.
6 :
For one thing, the flight to Dallas from Phoenix is only two and a half hours, not FOUR. Actually, three hours to kill in an airport is not as much as it seems. Grab a bite to eat, browse through a few of the shops and then start looking for your gate. The time will fly by.... you'll see. It's not as bad as it sounds. BTW, the airport in Phoenix is a Wi-Fi hot spot if that helps any.
7 :
You can look around the airport, go check out the stores they have, get something to eat, draw/sketch, read (if you brought a book)
8 :
I sat near a couple of young ladies playing "spot the terrorist", yep that is terrorist not tourist. What they would do is look at someone and decide if they were a terrorist or not and if they were what group the terrorist was from and what they were carrying. So what you got was like Grannies against warm milk carrying a coffee bomb, OR Al QuedNERD carring their BMD (Boogers of Mass Distruction), you get the idea. I guess that it is a variation on girls making fun of the way people are dressed but it had them in stitches for about half and hour and heck it made me smile.
9 :
I assume you're basing this on the airline information on your itinerary. So lets see, assume your flight into Phoenix arrives on time, give yourself 15 to 30 minutes to get off the plane, depending on where you sit. Another 30 to find your connecting gate and you've killed an hour. Go for a nice cardio walk around the terminal - all that sitting on two different flights is bad for your circulatory system. That should kill another 30 minutes. If you're carrying luggage, all the better. Work out that upper body too. Fell like a little excitement? go outside the security zone about 1 hour before your flight. Maybe the TSA lines are short, maybe not.

How does a airplane "lift its nose" up for takeoff

How does a airplane "lift its nose" up for takeoff?
Im confused as to how it actually "lifts its nose" is this done by the tail controls or the wings themselves? i just cannot figure it out. also I spoke to a captain of my american airlines flight from dallas ft.worth to stl about how the plan turns. he told me the tail has nothing to do with it. its just the wings. is this true?
Aircraft - 10 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Airplanes operate in three dimensions. They can pitch (nose up and down), roll (bank/turn), and yaw (nose side to side). Pitch is controlled by the elevator, which is a movable control surface on the horizontal portion of the tail. The nose is actually raised by forcing the tail down. Roll is controlled by ailerons, which are movable control surfaces on the outboard section of the wings. By moving the ailerons, the relative lift is different between the two wings, causing the airplane to roll/bank/turn. The tail has nothing to do with it. Yaw is controlled by the rudder, which is a movable control surface on the vertical portion of the tail. It is mainly used during takeoff and landing to compensate for the effect of wind.
2 :
like in 747-400, there's a very heavy metal that moves on rail. When the metal goes to the back, airplane gets to lift its nose. Every other airplane has a heavy metal that moves front and back. It's just a matter of size and weight. My friends told me
3 :
you know that is the hardest question ever,,,,,,,, but i think that airplanes engines are helping alot and with help with the wing flex and of coarse the hight speed maintained by the aircraft
4 :
The nose actually comes up after the roll-out to achieve airspeed required for take off. The nose-up and eventual take-off occur from the pilots control input to the yoke or the stick depending on the airplane .
5 :
Thumbs up to bizjet. Some of these answers are hilarious.
6 :
I can't believe some of the answers above! "Heavy metal...(!!!)" Wow! Please--no airplane uses a heavy metal weight for pitch control. Ridiculous! The whole idea is to keep them as light as possible. Just read Bizjet Flyer's answer. The pitch attitude is controlled by the elevators. Also run an internet search on "aerodynamics" and look on http://www.howstuffworks.com.
7 :
Bizjet is exactly right. that is how the control surfaces on a aircraft works.
8 :
Well to be able to lift off the ground you need lift which comes from the airplanes wings. once you have enough lift to support the aircraft you pull back on the controls which deflects the elevators on the tail of the airplane to lift the nose
9 :
The pilot causes the nose of the aircraft to rise by pulling back on the control yoke. There are hinged panels on the tail, called elevators, that can bend up and down. Pulling on the yoke raises the elevators, and when they are raised, the flow of air over them pushes the tail down, and raises the nose of the aircraft. Once the aircraft's nose is raised in this way, the wings start to produce a lot more lift—so much, in fact, that they pick the aircraft right up from the runway, and the airplane starts flying. The pilots wait until the airplane is going almost fast enough to fly even without raising its nose, and then they deliberately raise the nose to ensure that the airplane leaves the runway briskly. Pilots call this "rotation." This is a considerable simplification, but that's essentially how it works.
10 :
The primary method for controlling pitch is the elevator but power, when it is available and variable, also controls pitch. Add power and the nose goes up; reduce power and the nose goes down. Roll is produced by use of ailerons. Aileron deflection results in a change of the M.A.C. (mean aerodynamic chord) on each wing which results in more lift on the aileron down side and less lift on the aileron up side. This temporary imbalance of lift results in a moment of yaw on the down aileron side (added drag) and therein lies the need for the rudder: 'the purpose of the rudder is to compensate for adverse yaw created by aileron drag.' The rudder can also be used for entering and maintaining a 'slip' for crosswind landing purposes. Unfortunately, many novice pilots don't understand the proper use of the rudder and oftentimes use it for trying to steer the airplane. This kind of 'steering' results in a very dangerous yaw and when yaw is coupled with a stall, the immediate result is an unintended spin. These unintended spins at low altitudes are unrecoverable, even by experienced pilots, and almost always result in the death of all souls on board. 3500 hour flight instructor.

Where would the arrest me, on a connecting flight? (if at all)

Where would the arrest me, on a connecting flight? (if at all)?
I already asked a similar question but no one replied , so here it is again. Well ill be going from Mx city to Dallas, Tx.. (or Mexico to houston, then to dallas) i have a warrant for driving with a suspended lic. I was on deferred probation. this was 5 years ago, but I have a lawyer in Tx and will be going back to fix my problems. do they arrest u for "minor" things like that ? will it even show up? If they do arrest me, would it be in Houston? or would they wait for my connecting flight to Dallas? I would really love to hear from someone who knows or has been through something like this or knows about it, not just someone thats going to brand me a criminal and give negative feedback. thanks! @Nutty Thanks for the reply, i would also hope the have better things to do. But I dont think i would risk giving a fake name....I just wish there was more solid info out there. But keep in mind i was on probation at that time and left all that un-dealt with....i guess in the end its a risk,...i do exspect to go to jail a day or two to start the process i just dont want to get arrested at the airport...>(

NO, they will not have anybody waiting for you when you get off the plane, i would hope the cops would have better $hit to do, plus driving without a license is a minor violation only put into law to create more revenue, your going to be fine, nobody will arrest you, unless you get pulled over going home from the airport and even then all you have to do is tell them you dont have an id and give them a fake name.

What happens if a flight is cancelled and you're traveling with a kid

What happens if a flight is cancelled and you're traveling with a kid?
We're flying from Chicago (with connecting flights) to Dallas right after Christmas (26th). Weather's been bad lately and flight cancellations/delays aren't impossible to happen. If this is my case, and the only NEXT AVAILABLE flight they give us is nothing but to stay overnight, Will they pay for our hotel stay?? If its a discount voucher - how much discount would that be? They are not gonna let us sleep in the airport, are they??? I mean, I can tolerate that but my son?? I dont think so. Basically my question is, will they be nicer since I'm traveling with a kid?
Air Travel - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
The general answer is, No they won't.
2 :
For weather-related cancellations, you are totally on your own. Not only would you be stuck overnight but the next available flight may very well be at the end of day 2 or even day 3! Nobody can make you sleep in the airport; you can always go get a hotel room.
3 :
Right now there are many people with kids sleeping in airports cause their flight got canceled due to bad weather. Some of these people with kids have spent 3 nights in the airport. It doesn't make any difference if you have kids with you or not. And they will not pay for a hotel or anything - legally they do not have to - besides that there is nothing empty right now round any of the major airports. You are going to be taking your chances. Good luck to you with this.
4 :
I doubt they will be nicer. If they get caught being nice to you they'd have to be nice to everyone or get screamed at by irate travelers. Also when its weather related flight problems the employees aren't usually even allowed/authorized to hand out vouchers for anything (except occasionally food in extreme circumstances). Airlines aren't responsible for weather related flight disruptions. You will have to sleep in the airport or find your own hotel.
5 :
I was traveling from LA to Vancouver yesterday on the 22nd via Las Vegas. My connecting flight to Vancouver was canceled and they specifically pointed out that they are not responsible for assisting you with anything if the delay is from weather. And what annoys me was that Vancouver airport re-opened a half hour before the rescheduled deaparture time that was posted just before the cancellation. And the nearest hotel with rooms was a $45.00 cab ride away and the next available flight was not until Christmas day. And the 888 number I was given to call, always rang busy. I managed to get a flight back to LA, my Christmas trip ruined and my 90 year old mother spending Christmas Day with my ex. As for having a kid with you, that is not their fault. So while they may show some sympathy, that is all you are going to get. And then you will be in standby hell.
6 :
The airlines are not responsible for acts of god (this includes weather). If your flight is canceled until the next morning due to weather, they will not pay for any lodging/billeting. HOWEVER, many airlines/airports do have arrangements with nearby hotels. Ask if they have a distressed passenger rate at any local hotels; usually this is fairly reasonable (and in most cases, the hotel will have a shuttle to/from the airport).

Im going to upstate sc so can i just get off in charlotte and can they give me my luggage and let me just leave from there so my family can pick me up at charlotte airport or do i have to get on the 2nd plane and fly to atlanta georgia. I will have 2 carry ons and one checked in bag. so i wander if they will off load my checked in luggage and let me get off in charlotte. (its alot cheaper to fly to atl ga then directly to charlotte? go figure)

you can ask them to ship you your luggage from that place to where you want to get off depending on your airline. and if your checked bag is small enough then you can just pay for a third carry-on (or two) and ya. or if you can't do any of those then you could always ship your checked bag from your house to where your family is (w/ usps ups) and then only bring your carryons onto the plane (genius =D)
2 :
you have to go altanta your luggage will for sure aslo if you dont show up for your connecting flight the ailrine May contact the police to start looking for you thinking you are lost (in fact i have heard that in some cases they have even closed down the airport lookimg for someone who (if pardon the expresiion jumped ship midstream) also if you have any return resveations you can kiss those reservations bye bye! eeven if you have tickets also if the airline gets wind of your plan they have ever right to charge the current fare DFW to CLT not a good idea
3 :
Sure, you can get off, but your luggage won't.
4 :
Bad idea all around. If you have a round trip ticket, and you do not board the connecting flight from Charlotte to Atlanta, then the airline will cancel the return portion of your reservation - and you will not get any kind of refund or credit for the cost of that flight segment. You would be better off changing your flight to go only from Dallas to Charlotte.
5 :
It might be as the Traffic to atlanta is less than to charlotte. If u request them kindly not to do a through check in of the luggage then it is possible, but u might be breaking a rule.I they do that then u can simply collect ur luggage and head off.

What to do during a long layover at Dallas Fort Worth with luggage

What to do during a long layover at Dallas Fort Worth with luggage?
I have an 8 hour layover in Dallas Fort Worth Airport next month. Because I will be flying in from an international location, and flying to another international location, I predict I'll have about 5 hours free. I've looked into renting a car, but for some reason on the day I'll be there, even the rates to rent an economy car, are at the very least $70 and on average $120. I've checked multiple sites already! This is regardless of whether I have it for one day or overnight. Also, because the airline I'm flying (British Airways) only has one flight from Dallas per day, I'll probably be lucky if the check in counter is open when I arrive in Dallas. Chances are I'll probably have to tote my suitcase around, unless I can find someplace to store it for a few hours. What would you recommend somebody toting their luggage with an 8 hour layover, and car rental prices being very high, do? Thanks all!

There should be some sort of shuttle bus you can take to the Grapevine Mills Mall (about 5 min away) that will be a lot cheaper than a rental car. You won't have too much of a problem killing 5 hours out there and it's a neat area. Otherwise, there are plenty of restaurants/bars to kill time eating and drinking (which is what I do...)
2 :
If you can store or check your luggage at the airport, catch the free shuttle over to the Sheraton or the Westin (both are Starwood Hotels). You can have a nice relaxing meal in the restaurant or a drink in the bar. Talk to people...then catch the shuttle back. An inexpensive venture away from the airport.
3 :
Ride the Trinity Railway Express to downtown Dallas or Fort Worth. (One way $1.50 - Day Pass $3.00) ***No Service on Sundays or holidays. http://www.trinityrailwayexpress.org/tre-ridebuy.html http://www.trinityrailwayexpress.org/newweekeb.html Enterprise Rental Cars are cheaper on mid-week days. ($37.58 USD per weekday)(You're probably going to be here on a weekend so the price will be higher) http://www.enterprise.com/car_rental/home.do;jsessionid=Kc8YlvGvmrrm7d6w7ncLQJR7NSvYf2JG4QYCTjFr1l0JWfhw5Tww!-1827822051 http://www.dfwairport.com/transport/public.php http://www.fun-things-texas.com/things-to-do-in-fort-worth-texas.html http://www.fun-things-texas.com/things-to-do-in-dallas-texas.html After 9/11 all luggage lockers at airports were shut down. ******Most of the time, unless you're flying out on a different airline than you flew in on, your luggage is transferred to the next airplane rather than having to pick it up. I suppose your question is based on the fact that you're using two different airlines? The only information I have been able to get on luggage storage is for hotel customers. Some Trinity Rail Express and DART Rail stations have bicycle lockers. I pasted the pertinent information from the website below. ********************* At most rail stations and transit centers, DART offers bike racks for short-term parking and bike lockers for long-term parking. Bike lockers offer greater security but require a $15 nonrefundable deposit, as well as a rental fee: ̢ۢ 3 months $15 ̢ۢ 6 months $25 ̢ۢ 1 year $45 ********************* http://www.dart.org/riding/bike.asp#rail This links shows which stations have bike lockers and how many. http://www.dart.org/maps/locationslist.asp ********************* In case you get stuck at the airport, the links below have some tips and ideas. http://www.expedia.com/daily/airports/dallas.asp http://elayover.com/index.html If you go to the Grapevine Mills Mall, they may have lockers where you can store your luggage. (972) 724-4900
4 :
DFW airport has alot of nice restaurants and internet access with or without a computer..there is also a hotel in the airport and you don't have to rent a car to go there and enjoy there restaurant and bar..also if you do rent a car.. there are nice eating place on 114 which is on the outside of the north entrance of the airport. you can also go to grapevine mills mall which is very famous . if you rent a car you can leave your luggage in the car.. if you don't and you choose to stay in the airport you just chill in strabucks or eat at a restaurant.. there is no where to store your luggage. the prices of the car are high because you aren't a resident of the area and if you are not a U.S. citizen that also is a factor
5 :
Buy a one day pass to a lounge, you can leave your luggage there, eat, rest, watch t.v., relax. You really don't have enough time to explore outside the airport.

Travel to Ghana (from Dallas)

Travel to Ghana (from Dallas)?
I would like to visit a friend in Ghana sometime in September, but i've never done anything like this before & it is pretty confusing for someone who's not a seasoned international traveler. Any/all info would probaby help me out. At this point I'm mostly interested in the flight: What airline should I go with? Any air travel websites you recommend or advise I stay away from? How can I get the best deal on my tickets? *My dates are flexible and I would also be comfortable doing a last-minute or a stand-by flight if I am likely to get a significant savings.* (I just don't really know how to look into the feasability of those kind of options.) I assume I'll need to fly out of DFW, but Love Field would be wonderful. Does a flight with more stops mean more savings? It looks like most flights from Dallas to Accra stop in Amsterdam, London or Frankfurt-are any of those airports especially easy/friendly or especially confusing? Will I need a "real ID" or is a passport ok?

I went to Ghana 2 years ago. I had a layover in Amsterdam. That airport is wonderful! There is plenty to look at and buy. I really don't remember much about the booking information for the flight. I don't remember there being much of a savings for the layover which was 5 hours long. What I can tell you is that the flight from Amsterdam to Ghana was the pits! I sat next to a Ghanaian lady that ate stinky corn nuts the whole way. Of course there were a lot of Africans traveling, and I was not prepared for the difference in cultural norms. Closeness does not bother them. Don't be surprised if they are right in your face. In addition, body oder was rampant! So be prepared for your nose to get a shock! I would take an ID and a passport. Getting through security off the plane was not nearly as difficult as it is here, but they did try to give us a little bit of a hard time. Also, be sure to send off for your visa WELL in advance! The Ghananian embassy was very slow in processing mine, and it did not arrive until the day I left! Definately try to get to the open air market near Black Star Square! You will find any and everything you want there. Try to get to Elmina as well, the slave castles are a must see/visit. I don't know how much traveling you can do, but Nigeria, Togo, and Benin are driving distance as well. Overall, it was a good trip. I stayed for a month and was definately ready to come home. It seemed like there was not fresh air there. They burn their garbage and/or just leave it on the sides of the road. In addition to the above ground sewage and free roaming goats and chickens your nose is definately going to be on overload! I met a lot of wonderful people I am still friends with to this day! Great trip and culture shock all in one. Hope this helps Good luck! ps, dont drink the water! I was sick for half my stay :o(

Hello and nice you're considering visiting Ghana. First of all, I'll like to refute what the previous person said. Firstly, she probably boarded a flight which is not operated by a ghanaian airline and how sure is she the one seating next to her was a Ghanaian? Ghana is a country just like any other. There are Gethos and there are places that have neighborhoods like Bervely Hills. She was probably living in one of the gethos. Of course we're not as advanced as the USA but what I'm trying to say is there are a lot of nice places to stay. I'm a Ghanaian and my flat mate is a young Canadian lady who enjoys her time here. In my neighborhood, we don't burn or leave our rubbish on the streets to rot. A car comes around to collect them often. She is true and you'll find such places as she described but it doesn't mean that's all you'll find here. And yeah there're smelly people and places here just like I'm sure you'll find in some places in the states. As for which flight to take, I'm not suere I can help with that, You can check out these airline pages for details: http://www.klm.com http://www.ba.com http://www.emirates.com and http://www.lufthansa.com They should give you flight details to Ghana. Don't let her comments discourage you from coming to visit.

Nope, that's their job. I would just be in the way and there is the whole 'lawsuit' thing to consider as well.
5 :
I think anyone would unless the guy had a weapon.
6 :
Of course I would, I like to land where my ticket says I'm going.
7 :
Hell yeah!
8 :
Yes if it means saving the other passengers.
9 :
I would be a helper for sure!
10 :
You darn right, but it could never happen for me becasue I have sworn not fly again.
11 :
....Absolutely yes !!! The unruly passenger has no where to go. There are more passengers on board that are from the prospective of "Honor" that can support the Marshall; than the lessor number of people that live without "Honor" - also on board the plane....That is why Flight 93 went down. Thank God for those people that acted rather than sit in their seats !!!!
12 :
Heck yes because opening that door can be fatal for everyone else! i wouldn't think about anything else just my life and everyone else's!
13 :
Without a doubt! If it meant me being safe and all the other passengers being safe, along with workers I wouldn't even hesitate. I wouldn't even worry about my safety if it had come to that as long as everyone else was okay !!!

if you want to live, you'd better, that will be one fight you can't afford to slink away from.

can someone explain the whole process an unaccompanied minor goes through while at an airport

can someone explain the whole process an unaccompanied minor goes through while at an airport?
What does an unaccompanied minor do or have to do from the time they get to the airport to the time they leave the airport at their destination. by the way this is with the unaccompanied minor service that the airport has plus my flight also has a connecting flight in dallas/fort worth. i am flying on american airlines

IT just means the parent takes the child through security, and stays with them in the secure area until the flight. THe child stays with an attendant the entire time. They are not left alone AT ALL until whomever, at the destination airort, picks them up. They are with an airline employee until this person arrives, and ID is checked. It's really safe!
2 :
Airline UM programs are not all exactly the same, but in general: Using the Unaccompanied Minor program has to be arranged in advance. Don't just show up at the airport. An adult with ID has to take the UM to the airport and deliver them to the check-in desk. The UM will usually get an ID or tag that identifies them as an "Unaccompanied Minor" at that time. Most airlines want the adult to take the child to security after check-in, but an airline employee will escort the UM to their flight after that, stay with them, and ensure the flight crew knows they are an Unaccompanied Minor. An airline employee will also walk the UM to their connecting flight (in Dallas in your case) and stay with them until the flight boards. An airline employee will escort the UM from the aircraft to the arrivals area at the destination airport. An adult with ID has to meet them there. Hope you have a great flight.

I gave a pretty long writeup of the process to the person who asked this same question yesterday. When asking a question, please look at the similar questions that Y!A shows you, or do a search.

How to get from Dallas, TX to Shreveport, LA

How to get from Dallas, TX to Shreveport, LA?
Please I need to know wich is the best option (besides taking a Flight) to get from Dallas, Texas to Shreveport, Louisiana, (I will be landing at Dallas-Fort Worth Intl. Airport) and how much will I spend. Thank You. I heard something about Amtrak rail service, it sounds good Does anybody know about it? or you think is not a good idea.

Amtrak is good. Here is your best option... http://tickets.amtrak.com/itd/amtrak Good luck , Have fun...
2 :
If you are not going to fly you could take the bus. It is cheaper and probably as fast as amtrak. the trains in the U.S. are not like the trains in Europe
3 :
Driving takes three to four hours, so by train it will be about the same. Unless you get lucky and the freight trains don't hold you up.
4 :
i make that trip at least once a month. just take I-20 straight to louisiana, it passes right through the middle of shreveport. very simple.
5 :
I-20 east and there you are. I would drive. It's like the other person said only 3 hours or so.
6 :
i actually JUST got back home to dallas from shrevepot about an hour ago. The best way is to drive. Its a boring drive... but its only 3 hours. From Dallas.. take 635 south to 80. Then that to I20 east and that will take you all the way to Shreveport. The speed limit is 70 daytime and 65 night time pretty much the whole way.

10 seconds... Jk. You should show up a couple hours before hand. Like they say, it's better to be too early than to be too late!
2 :
For a small airport like Ontario, I suggest 45-1hr15 before you leave. It should take 7 minutes or less to get through TSA. To get your boarding pass, maybe 5 minutes.
3 :
i would still say 2 hours its better for you be at gate relaxed then rushing
4 :
It is suggested that you be at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. If you really can't be there that early, strive for at least 90 minutes. You just never know how long the lines will be to check-in and at security.

I'm pretty sure they do, but if you know the type of plane your flying on the check this website: http://www.seatguru.com/. You can do this by checking your flight number with the airline and asking them the type of aircraft their flying.
2 :
It depends on the aircraft. If you're flying direct, aa.com shows you as being on a Boeing 767-300. That aircraft does NOT have personal TVs (PTVs). However, if you're flying via Miami, you'll be on the 757 from DFW-MIA (no PTV), but from MIA to Buenos Aires, you're on a 777, which does have PTVs at every seat (even in coach). Have a good trip.

Cheapest Flight

What is the cheapest flight from Dallas to Fresno? So my cousin is here [Dallas, TX] and wants to go to Fresno, CA. But she wants a nonstop, short flight and cheap but NOTHING convinces her! Also neither one of us has knowledge as to how to get a ticket online. PLEASE HELP!

try priceline.com or expedia.com..i usually check out the sites...then go to the cheapest airlines website and see if they have anything else...also try changing your dates if you do not like the price...it may drop the price depending on what you choose.
2 :
Well, there are a lot of details not addressed in your question. For example, when does she want to travel? Fares are going to vary greatly depending on a variety of details. Will she travel one way or round trip? For demonstration purposes, here are some current fares. For one-way travel tomorrow (October 30th, 2008) the currently available fare would be $914.50. However if she were to travel round trip with a randomly chosen date of November 17th, 2008 with a return on November 24th, 2008 then the fare currently available would be $402.00. As you can see, there's quite a difference. Using the internet is not so hard. After all, you did use the internet to ask this question. Try visiting AA.com and try your hand at it. You'll be an old pro in a few minutes. If not, dial 1-800-433-7300 and an American Airlines representative will be happy to assist you. Best Regards, American
3 :
I would highly recommend both hotwire and priceline, with cheaptickets comping in a close third. I've searched around for airfare quite a bit, and these three sites usually ring true as the cheapest. Other than that, I'd go to sites like igougo.com, travelzoo.com, or bookingbuddy.com. These sites offer searches of multiple online airfare websites, making it easier and less time consuming to compare prices. As for when to buy, I usually go to farecast.com. They pretty accurately predict when a good time to buy a flight would be based off of past and current trends, etc. It's pretty useful. Another site I've found handy is rightflight.org. They did a bunch of research on the various airfare sites to see which sites are usually the cheapest. They also have a list of most of the airfare sites on their webpage, which can be pretty handy in and of itself. Hope this helped!
4 :
If you are looking for dirt cheap flights to International cities anywhere in the world then Globester is the solution. You can buy super cheap air tickets from this site and fly anywhere. So what are you waiting for Log on to http://www.globester.com and book your cheap flights now!
5 :
"18K Travel" http://www.18ktravel.com Sometimes there are two non stop flights from Dallas (DFW) to Fresno (FAT). When you see the main page pop up, just fill in the information and click the search button. After that rest is self explanatory.
6 :
Assuming flying on 12-01-2008, the cheapest is for USD 550 via Los Angeles and Seattle. Mail to amitlohia@gmail.com for more information

Is it normal for a regular small airport to perform a body search on me

Is it normal for a regular small airport to perform a body search on me?
I was on a one way flight to Dallas, and was approaching the search area where your bags get sent through. I as asked to move to another area for a body search. not a cavity search, but the blue gloves, searching my whole body and then in front of everyone they one by one took out my personal things going through my things. They laid them out in plain view. They ran a round cloth over each item and ran through a machine to detect for any substance. Can anyone tell me if this is normal while everyone else went through the regular check point? I felt violated and very embarrased. They made me stand with my arms and legs spread apart to do the search. They asked me if I wanted to go to another private room and I said no, because I had nothing to hide. I had a bottle of Afrin that went through and passed. Then I had a tube of cream lip stick that was expensive. She asked if I had a zip lock baggie to put it in and I said no. Had to throw it away. I need to find out answers.

yes it is normal. unfortunately you were the chosen one. it does feel degrading. also next time carry a zip lock for your cosmetics.

The one way ticket prob got you flagged for a search. Sorry you had to endure that. Being a swashbuckling archaeologist, I travel a lot. Below is the best site for travel planning, and has great prices! Cheers, Indy http://www.choiceretreat.com
3 :
Can't say anything about that.. But most of the time they don't bother you unless the walk through detector go off... Jes follow directions that they say. REMOVE ALL METALLIC OBJECTS!!!
4 :
I take it this is your first trip going by air.? If you purchased a ticket and you only bought it one way then you would be required to go thru extra security checks that other folks would not have to go thru if they had purchased a round trip ticket and this includes the hand wanding you went thru and the search of your carry on bags. I can't go into detail but it is what it is and there are many reason why the system is set up this way and you will need to accept it. Next time if this happens you can ask for a private screening. It does not mean you have anything to hide but it is there for you if it makes you feel better and they are required to give it to you. As a passenger traveling by air you need to educate yourself on what you can and can not take thru the security checkpoints before you get to the airport. I hope your next experience is a better one.
5 :
you just happened to be the one they "randomly" picked. Also, by purchasing a one way ticket means you have more of a chance of going though this. It is completely normal though.
6 :
Abilene?
7 :
Yes, things changed alot since 9/11 and everybody are going thru all these procedures. Don't feel bad, I am sure everybody else feels the same way as you did. Look in the positive side! now you know what to do.

2 :

Is ok to travel by plane with my 1 month old baby

Is ok to travel by plane with my 1 month old baby?
My baby is set to be born on 8/22. I live in NY and my awaited 10 year High School reunion in TX is Sept. 26. I really would like to go, but i don't want to harm the baby. My husband would travel with me and it is a short flight from NY to Dallas and then another flight from Dallas to El Paso.

I think that is something to really ask your doctor. Planes are really hotbeds for germs and especially with a new born, they can catch a lot. I would say check with your doctor.
2 :
I traveled with my son when he was 9 weeks I just make sure when the plane took off he was sucking a bottle and then his ears would not pop. It was fine and then about 1 1/2 years later I did it again with 2 babies go for it!
3 :
A month postpartum my son and I got on a plane and took a 22 hour flight to Russia, by ourselfs! It is okay. Mothers will tell you no, not because of health risks but because they are too fearful to travel with such a small infant. Don't allow other moms fears to be your own. As long as your peditrican gave you the thumbs up, your good to go!
4 :
according to babycenter.com at 4-6 wks baby can travel by air. I have a friend that traveled with baby pretty early on and she is fine. Just keep a binkie or breast/bottle handy to use during take off and landing so their ear can adjust. I traveled when my son was a little older at about 6 months, they tend to sleep the whole way.
5 :
Your not supposed to fly with a baby under 1 year old some reports say. Some do and I personally don't know of anyone who had an issues who followed the basic rules when on a plane. Like an above poster said have him sucking his bottle during takeoff and landing so the babies ears don't pop. On a sidenote some airlines (don't know of any US ones thou) actually have baby cribs for young babies for mothers with young babies so apparently enough are doing that to warrant such a thing.
6 :
I went on a plane when I was about 1 month old to. But I would highly ask your pediatrician about that. I am just concerned about when your ears pop, that will probably be uncomfortable for the baby. I would also ask your pediatrician about some medicine the baby can take to reduce her/ his chance of getting sick on the plane/ trip. Hope this helps.
7 :
I don't think it would be harmful, but the baby will probably be very fussy and cry a lot, as he/she would not yet know how to pop their own ears to regulate the air pressure. (Oh, and Dallas to New York nonstop is not a short flight, [or at least I don't think a flight ranging from 3hrs 40mins to 4 hours is short, lol] I looked it up on Expedia, and it is REALLY expensive.) Seeing the expense of a non-stop from New York to Dallas, and seeing as how the airline might actually charge for a one month old (don't put it past them these days) and (not to sound mean) taking other passengers into consideration, you might want to consider leaving your husband home with your baby, and just going by yourself. However, DEFINITELY get a picture taken to show off :-)

I'm flying from Memphis, TN out to Dallas, TX tomorrow...weather

I'm flying from Memphis, TN out to Dallas, TX tomorrow...weather!?
Well all the websites are all giving me different forcasts for the weather. At like 7:00 our plane from Memphis is taking the 1 and a half hour flight to Dallas, TX, where we will then take off again to Tucson, AZ. Anyway, just wondering, if you live in the Dallas area, what do you think the weather will be like? I'm really kinda freaking out, I have a major phobia of planes and don't want a troublesome bumpy flight.

Well i live in San Antonio, TX and Dallas is about 5-6 hours NW. Over here it is pretty cold but no snow or rain. in Dallas there maybe some snow since it is up north. Don't get scared on the plane, it will get bumpy but its just turbulence. it has happened on every plane i go on even in bright sunny skies. P.S. The Dallas airport is really nice and big just try not to get lost because the trolley shuttle things get kind of confusing.
2 :
right now it is 79 and cloudy, very windy. Supposed to get a lot of rain overnight and thru the morning. Sorry, but bumps are likely--don't worry, though, they aren't dangerous! Take a Xanax....

The latest flight is 8:28 pm from Dulles on AirTran for $388. It arrives 12:13 am. This according to Expedia.com. I doubt you can find flights that meet your timing, as the public generally does not prefer those type hours. PS. There are many web sites where you can book flights - Orbitz, Kayak, etc
2 :
Look at www.bestfares.com or go to www.aa.com. There lots of sites that can help you find something that comes close to your times, but since deregulation there are not any late night flights inside the U.S.

Are there any Direct Flights from DFW Airport to Asia

Are there any Direct Flights from DFW Airport to Asia?
I know there is a flight to Seoul like 3 times a week but is that it? Does it have one for Manila, Shanghai, Paris, Sao Paulo, and Mexico City? All I know is that there is Seoul, but that flight doesn't do me too much good. I heard a debate about direct flights from Dallas to Beijing, but the proposal got shot down... answers?

Out of DFW you option for direct international flights is basically American Airlines. Unfortunatly they don't have too many direct flight to Asia. You can definetly find direct flights to Paris, Sao Paulo, Mexico City.
2 :
yep, Seoul on Korean, also Tokyo on American. No Manila or Shanghai, yes Paris, Sao Paulo & MEX (but your q was about Asia?) where do you want to go?
3 :
From DFW, you can go to Tokyo and Seoul. Right now there are no flights to Manila or Shanghai. You would most likely have to connect in Los Angeles or San Francisco to get to those cities. American should fly direct to Paris, Sao Paulo and Mexico City. Dallas to Beijing was not approved. The government ended up awarding flights to Continental from Newark to Beijing and to United from Washington D.C. to Beijing.

I am flying to Rome (from Dallas) on a chartered flight for hubby's business. Need suggestions on comfy but...
classy outfit to wear on a long plane ride. We will be with a lot of executives but it will be a casual atmosphere as this is a business vacation. I was thinking a very nice jogging suit or cute stretchy capri pants and a cute shirt. Can anybody give me suggestions and even some brands and websites? I'm not really concerned about price so I would be open to anything.

Is there a restriction for boarding planes with a fever

Is there a restriction for boarding planes with a fever?
Because I happened to catch a cold a couple days before my flight to Dallas, Texas, and my dad warned me if I have a high fever, I canot board the plane. Is this true? If it is, please tell me the maximum body temperature I can have (farenheit). I have a 99.2 degree body temperature. Will I be able to catch a flight?

Maybe your dad means that HE is not going to let you board the plane. It is not as if anyone at the airport is standing there with thermometers taking people's temperature as part of the check in process. Unless you are obviously too ill to fly, I doubt that anyone will say or do anything. You can take something to lower your fever and drink plenty of water since dehydration on flights can be an issue. Good luck.

How shall we give you a straightforward answer if you fail to provide information about your citizenship? The United States have abolished the Transit Without Visa program after 9/11. Those who need a tourist visa to come to the United States also need a C-1 transit visa. http://trinidad.usembassy.gov/transit_visas2.html .. The visa can be applied for at the U.S. Embassy or a Consulate General of your [unknown] country [fee $131]. http://www.usembassy.gov/ .. You don't need a transit visa should you hold a passport of Canada, Bermuda, or of one of the 35 countries which can travel to the United States on the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html#countries .. Holding a VWP country passport you need to apply for a prior authorization (ESTA) to transit through the United States. It can be obtained free of charge on the website of the US DHS; just put "in transit to ..." in the address column of the online application form. http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/esta/ ..
2 :
Follow this link to the ESTA website: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html?_flowExecutionKey=_c066147DF-D36B-795B-2283-96A0C0D740AD_k4B5AAA0E-A7C3-7EC5-0063-2D251778FB4E Fill in the details and once you submit your application you will be allowed to pass through in transit the USA. You are also allowed 90 days inside the USA itself I believe.

Do you think singer/actor Rick Nelson died in the plane crash due to freebasing and why

Do you think singer/actor Rick Nelson died in the plane crash due to freebasing and why?
Many people have wondered if teen idol Ricky Nelson died freebasing cocaine aboard the plane that crashed in 1985. It is known he took drugs. I've been a fan of his for years and don't think he would have done this. He wouldn't endanger his life or the life of the band in my opinion. However, cocaine is a powerful drug and the flight to Dallas was a long one. What do some of you think?

That was a speculation made before the crash was properly investigated, and it has stuck. It was the result of a heater on the plane catching fire.

How early should i arrive at the airport to catch my flight

How early should i arrive at the airport to catch my flight?
Im flying out from Nashville to Dallas, and then dallas to Mexico. My flight leaves at 9:45am on a Thursday through American Airlines. So i was wondering how early i needed to arrive there to get there. Does anyone know if there is bad traffic in Nashville around 7am since it normally takes me an hour to get there? Also, will i have to go through security again when i switch planes?
Air Travel - 4 Answers

1 :
I always think it's wise to allow a good couple of hours between your arrival and the final check-in time. Be sure to find out what that time is, though!
2 :
Domestic flights, allow 2 hours, and international allow 3. So you should be at the airport by 6:45. I'm guessing you should allow an extra half hour for driving just to be sure, so leave home at 5:15. Better to be bored at the airport than to miss your flight.
3 :
you should get there at least 2.5 hours before the flight that way it gives you time to check your luggage, go through security, relax and prepare yourself for the flight, and finally board the plane
4 :
I would arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure since you do have an international flight. As for traffic, sometimes there can be traffic at 7:00 am as people try to get to work. If it takes you 1 hour to arrive at the airport without traffic, budget 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours with traffic. Your flight to Mexico will probably leave Terminal D at DFW. I would imagine you would have to go through security again.
