Flight to Seattle

Flight to Seattle?
I'm flying to Seattle soon and I need to know some basic stuff. First, if I want to get to Seattle in the early morning, what time would my flight from Dallas/Fort Worth airport have to be? I know everything with the time zones. I believe Seattle is 3 hours diffirent.

The earliest flights depart Dallas at around 9:00am and arrive in Seattle around 9:15-9:30. Seattle is two hours behind Dallas, not three. By the way, flight information is available on dozens on websites. Just go to any of the major travel websites such as Expedia, Otbitz, or Travelocity. If you only want schedules and don't need to check availability or fares, Airwise is easy to use. You don't need to post a question here and wait for someone to answer it. You can get the answer yourself in less than a minute.

will my flights this summer to Dallas and LA

will my flights this summer to Dallas and LA?
will my flight to DAllas that leaves Monday June 8 at 6 am be OVERBOOKED???? I chose my seat last month and it was row 13, many seats were taken! I put it near the window (AS If I Want to rest, I Fear the person will make me get up so he can use the bathroom, EVERYONE: USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE THE PLANE GOES: well use the restroom 30-40 minutes before the plane leaves). AND ITS FUN NEAR THE WINDOW> I am using Logan as though I live in Plymiuth due to non stop fights so I will have to leave my house at 2 am. WIll I be able to sleep on the plane I am going from Boston to LA (Los Angeles) the last monday of June and will the 6:30 am flight be OVERBOOKED the week after I am going to the BOston San Francisco flight at 9 pm on the Sunday of 4th of July weekend, will that be overbooked? even IF I get to these flights and they are overbooked, WILL GETTING THERE early and my boarding pass guarantee not getting involuntarily bumped off.

It depends on your attitude Daniel. And yes, the last people who arrive are the firat bumped after they take the volunteers of course. Be nice and paly well with the others and you will be just fine

Flights from Dallas, TX...or near

Flights from Dallas, TX...or near?
I currently live in Charleston, WV and I'm moving to Dallas in August. In September, I need to fly back to WV for a wedding. Does anyone know of any airports in the metroplex area other than DFW and Dallas Love that might offer a flight? And I'm not sure how far away other cities are (like Houston or Austin) or anything like that, but would there be somewhere close out of which I could fly? P.S. a second rate airline is fine...I don't mind to not have drinks served and not have lay over...the main objective here is to find the least expensive flight possible!!

After Labor Day, peak travel season should be over so ticket prices should come down a bit. You can try different travel websites or airline websites to find the price of a ticket. But I do not see you saving that much money if you fly out of Houston or Austin since driving there from Dallas is pretty far.
2 :
It seems that the cheapest option is CRW>DFW with AA/DL at USD427.00 Other airports: * Charleston Airports (map) Best (BKW) Raleigh County $553 (CRW) Yeager $427 (HTS) Tri State Airport $506 (LWB) Greenbrier Valley $510 (PKB) Marietta/Parkersburg $478 * Dallas/Fort Worth Airports (map) Best (DAL) Love Field $604 (DFW) Dallas/Ft Worth Intl $427

I would recommend Southwest Airlines since they fly to almost every major airport in Texas and are the most efficient airline. You can make a reservation or check the route map by visiting www.southwest.com or by calling 1800IFLYSWA

Why do you have to turn off your electronics on planes

Why do you have to turn off your electronics on planes?
I recently had a flight from Dallas to Atlanta to Washington D.C, and each time at takeoff/landing they told us to turn all elctronics off. Why? I left my iPod on and the plane did not spontaneously combust. Is it a safety thing or what?

They are said to interfere with the pilots' communication with the air traffic control tower. This, however, is not true anymore. It is an old rule. I have a few friends that fly for airlines and say they often leave their phones on the entire flight.

I`ve heard that they`re said to interfere arbitrarily with the aircraft`s navigational instruments, so that operating electronics on bord an airliner is prohibited by IATA`s regulations.

Yes it is a safety thing. I can think of a few reasons that you would be asked to turn off electronics... For one, in fact some electronics (cell phones) do interfere slightly with electronics of the aircraft. I tested it myself, my cell phone caused a little buzzing sound in the headset. Not enough to prompt any kind of problem, but it was a bit annoying. As the first person indicated, it was much more prominent in the old days. However, there's more to it. Remember the Miracle on the Hudson? Seconds before hitting the water the captain came on and said something to the effect of "brace for impact". Now what would happen if if you were listening to your iPod and missed the announcement entirely? What if you couldn't hear the order to evacuate the plane? Other electronic devices like laptops could simply end up as projectiles if the plane landed really hard or had a runway overrun, causing injuries that could easily be avoided. Consider also that if the plane were on fire in the air, the airstream would help minimize the spread of the fire, and there's nothing the passengers could do anyway. The flight crew would be doing everything they could to handle the fire. But on the ground, the crew could easily announce a passenger evacuation. From your seat, you wouldn't know that an engine was on fire, or that the wheels were on fire. Thus, you'd have no idea that you were in danger until you heard "evacuate, evacuate, evacuate". If listening to music, you'd see everyone stand up and running for the exits, and then you'd be like 'whoa, what's going on!?' and those few extra seconds of confusion could be the difference between getting off safely, or burning to death. You're right, the plane does not explode or anything. It's entirely for your safety, and to cover the airline's butt in the event of suing.

The plane did not spontaneously combust, proving what? Yes, it's a safety thing. The probability of any bad effect may be small (it is small) but why add any increased risk?
