I believe that Reno is the only large airport in the area - there may be some smaller ones, but not big enough for a big jet. It is only about 60 miles from Reno to Lake Tahoe and it's a beautiful drive. If someone on your team is driving, could they pick you up at the airport? If not, someone probably will be renting a car and can give you a ride. Check with your team mates and Good Luck!

Yes, specifically over the Gulf of Mexico. I don't recall just how long we were actually over water, partly because we were pretty much along the shore for well over an hour, whether over water near land or over land near water.

The cheapest flight I found was on United, with a layover in Denver. It's a 2 hr flight to Denver; and then a 2 hr. 15min flight from Denver to San Diego. Returning, the first flight is 1/2 hour longer though.....

I recently flew from Dallas to St. Louis and it seemed as if the plane was slightly inclined upward for most of the flight until around descent. Is there a reason for this?

Im going to Japan via Dallas In December. Im assuming they are going to use the biggest planes for this trip meaning they are going with the Boeing 777. Which seats are the best seats and do they all have personal tv's in economy? Are there personal tvs especially in front of where the wing-seats (A,B Row 30) are and the 5 seats where the letters are marked (C,D,E,F,G Row 30) on their site or are there big tvs right in front of those marked seats? Can you find what they are going to show somewhere online on that particular date? Many channels or just 1 channel that shows the flightpath? And is it true that the power plugs in economy are in limited spots for those of you that have been on a recent 777 flight? 1 port for every couple rows or are there multiple ports in each port box? I flew to Japan on a Continental Boeing 777. All of the seats had TVs. As for which seats are the best, it's basically the same as any domestic flight: try not to sit next to the lavatory, exit rows are nice, aisles have more room to stretch out, etc. The bottom line is that you're going to be in an aluminum tube for 15 hours and there's really no way to make it pleasant. :-)

I'm flying from Philly to Dallas tonight, where I'm scheduled to land at 9:15 Dallas time. I've checked the forecasts with the hurricane. Does anyone think my flight will be delayed, or will the storm hit after my flight is scheduled to land?

I would assume it would be. But It isn't scheduled to hit until 1:00 AM September 13th. But the winds, you might be delayed. Why on earth are you flying to Dallas? Dallas will be affected too. Have you seen the size of that storm. Not as bad as Houston, but rainy.

Dallas isn't supposed to get any residual from Ike until tomorrow night. But your flight could possible be delayed if the plane for your flight is coming from somewhere that the hurricane is hitting sooner and is delayed getting to your original airport.

The effects of Ike here in Dallas will not peak until tomorrow morning sometime. I think you will be safe in flying here tonight. You may experience a flight delay however because both airports in Houston will be closed. Hotel rooms may be hard to find because Houston area folks will be headed this way. Cheap flight from Dallas to Massachusetts?
I'm visiting a friend in Massachusetts at the end of the summer and im looking for a flight cheaper than 323 dollars, any suggestions? I've looked arond but would appreciate any help in finding a cheap flight

End of summer is peak travel season, and if you're going to Massachusettes, I would assume you're going to Boston, so you have a lot of competition from not just vacationers, but from business travellers. Check fares across a whole week; it is usually cheaper to fly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and sometimes these prices differences are significant; these are the days where business travellers aren't flying as much, so the airlines cut fares to fill the planes with leisure travellers. But with most planes flying close to full these days, and cutbacks on service/number of planes flying, I wouldn't hold my breath on getting any better deals. I did find $225 on airtran (before taxes) going DFW-ATL-BOS in the second week of august so I'd hop on that fare.

I am currently searching Cheapoair.com on August 18th to August 25th, and the cheapest flight I found for one adult with taxes to Boston is $251 on AirTran from Dallas to Milwaukee and then onto Boston. Then, on the way back, Boston to Baltimore, then to Dallas. I got this from Cheapoair.com Good luck, and have a great trip!

Our luggage got on a plane at O'Hare to Dallas, Fort Worth. Dallas had a snow storm and we ended up on stand by. We were at the airport until the last flight. We cancelled our flight. How do we get our luggage back to O'Hare airport for us to pick up. The airline is American Airlines

have you talked with American airlines? they would know what is what people on yahoo answers don't work for American airlines either also I'm surprised they put the bags on flight that you didn't board are you sure it got on that flight (it may be sitting in the the baggage claim office at O'Hare! (because airlines are suppose not put luggage on the plane unless the passengers has board that aircraft0

Sorry, something just doesn't add up here. If you were so set to go to Dallas, why didn't you get on a flight there and why you would cancel your entire plans?

I am leaving the 24th of August and wanting to come back sometime either on September 11,12,13 or September 18,19,20. Unfortunately I have to fly in on a weekend. The cheapest I found was on Southwest and it was $260. Can anyone find it cheaper?

you are better off checking your bag... its no big deal... with liquid and gel laws, its almost impossible to have all the proper hygine products you will need.

you should not put anymake up in your carry on or they will search for it. or jewerly

...I have never had an issue w/Jewlery in the carry on. Just make sure its not hanging out for the world to see and I'm sure your fine. Pack a carry-on suitcase like normal? i suggest no roll ons...those people hold up the line and are slow! If your asking about what types of clothes you should bring. Stretch anywhere from a bathing suit to a jacket and everything in between. Weather in Dallas is unpredictable. It can be 30 one day and 70 the next.

i went to visit my friend in houston a couple months ago because we were flying to cancun it took us about an hour and a half... lol i don't know if that helps. but i'm not sure about hawaii hope i helped.

Just go on any travel site and look at the flights for times. Honolulu's airport is HNL.

Don't worry about flying over the ocean, there are no mountains to hit and the last ditching in the Pacific on that route was in 1953. It's actually safer than an over land flight. If you care to look it up the ditching was a Pan-Am Boeing Clipper and the pilot ditched it alongside a US Navy Cruiser. If floated and nobody even got their feet wet. To Cancun is obviously shorter, A little over 2 hours but I can't think of a sensible reason to go there. Waikiki is much nicer. Ian M

Delta's food, like all airline's SUCKS. Seriously, buy food after security...it will all be junk but at least it's edible. There is no extra legroom in economy on international flights. Business is pretty nice. I've only flown first on Swiss, so I don't know about Delta. I think Dallas to NY is like 4 or 5 hours. NY to Spain is about 7. Mostly try to sleep, bring your laptop and iPod, books, a cd player for when your laptop and iPod die, and buy food after security to eat. Plus try to eat on your layover if possible.

Try to travel midweek days, include a Saturday night stay, and purchase at least 14 days in advance. You can sign up for fare alerts at Orbitz.com; when a sale a pops up, you'll be sent an email. In the next 30 days, cheapest currently is $235 roundtrip, taxes and fees included, on USAir with DFW and ORF, connecting at CLT each way. American Airlines offer the only nonstop connecting these markets; $247 currently. Best to book direct from the airline.

cheapest round flight, dallas to san diego and back?
My friend lives in Texas and i live in San Diego Can anyone find me a cheap round-flight from Dallas, Texas to San Diego, California and back? Preferably from December 20th 2009 to January 2nd 2010 Thanks :)

your looking to early the general rule of thumb is to purchase your tickets 8-12 weeks before depature to insure yourself the cheapest possible ticket. and since you want to fly during the holidays prices will be high.
2 :
The cheapest main-line carrier is American, which does it for about $440. The cheapest budget carrier is Southwest airlines, which has it for about $380.

Unfortunately, the holidays are always more expensive and it doesn't matter how soon you book your flights you are still going to pay more for the holiday season. It's just the way it is. I would suggest always comparing prices before booking any travel. Try this website to see if there is something that fits your budget.

Please help me to know the complete procedure at International airport chennai for Lufthansa flight to Dallas?
Want to guide my parents travelling first time to Dallas ,US from Chennai,India through Lufthansa via Frankfurt.Please help me to understand the procedures at Chennai International Airport before boarding the flight.

I have never been to that specific airport in India, but I can speak as to the typical airport process. First, check your itinerary for the proper terminal, if there is more then one, to make sure you go to the correct terminal. Then, look for signs or ask an airport employee to find your check in area for your airline. After going through the check-in, security is the next step. Follow the signs to either security or the number of your gate, which will be given to you at the time of check in. After the security process, follow the signs to your gate, then you will be called by either rows or group number as indicated on your ticket for boarding the aircraft. Make sure to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours early for all international flights to allow for time to get through this process.

its about 225 miles so i guess about 45 min.

I have never flown if before but if i had to guess... probley 30 mins or so.. fast enough for the plane to get up to speed and land..lol

From the 16th December, 2010, American Airlines will be operating a direct flight, AA514, from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW) to Bridgetown International Airport, Barbados (BGI) on Monday, Thursday & Saturday. This flight is scheduled to leave Dallas at 1330hrs and arrive in Barbados at 2100hrs. The flight time will actually be 5hrs 30mins, as these times are local and Barbados is 2hrs ahead of Dallas.
