With the right amount of planning, any travel website (or southwest.com) can do that for you right now -- the cheapest published fares for the routes between the Houston airports (Hobby and Bush Intercontinental) and the Dallas airports (DFW and Love Field) are right around $100 plus tax round trip (or less than $150 per person after tax). These lower fares have advance purchase requirements of 21 days, though, so the chances are good that you're looking to buy a ticket with considerably less notice than that, given your requirement for a ticket less than $250. Though you don't specifically mention when you're flying, I'd guess that you're trying to buy a ticket fairly soon -- in fact, you might be trying to fly sometime later this week (or this weekend), given your request parameters. I went to Planetickets.com (http://www.planetickets.com) this morning and saw american airline (www.aa.com) doing a sale to Dallas. Also check out Southwest airlines (www.southwest.com).

I'm arriving at Terminal D from an international flight, and catching a connection flight to Chicago in Terminal A. I am not american. Do I have to clear customs here or in Chicago? If I do have to clear them at Dallas, how long does it take to clear customs?

Dallas. Once you arrive, you are then connecting to a terminal that is domestic, so youll clear it in Dallas, collect your bags, and then have them rechecked/rescaned by american authorities and then go on to Chicago. It depends on the time of day and day of travel as to lines for non american passport holders, and sometimes what country your from, also time of year. Plan on 1-2 hours in line though during busy times, non busy times though it can be as short as 10-20 minutes. Enjoy your trip on American, there a good carrier.

Lieber Mann, you clear in DFW. Clearance can take up to an hour...maybe more, if several flights arrive at same time, which is entirely possib;e in afternoon (BA, LH, American from lots of places)...but when you are done, you just hand in your suitcase outside customs, take the train to Terminal A, and go on your way. It would not have to be a Texas ID, it could be a driver's license or document issued by any state.

Any government-issued ID. However, the TSA has relaxed its rules a bit. If you don't have acceptable ID, they will take you aside, ask you to fill out a form, and then will take steps to verify your identity. They say it takes about 15 minutes; I'd plan for longer.
