Is there any way to move around, what are the risks of getting a blood clot from sitting so long?

There don't appear to be any non-stop flights from Dallas (or Houston) to Rome so you have to change planes somewhere. I recommend changing planes in the USA and then taking a non-stop flight from that city to Rome. For example, Dallas to Atlanta is about 2 hours flying time and Atlanta to Rome is about 9 1/2 hours flying time. www.delta.com You will have a couple of hours on the ground in the international departure city (Atlanta or wherever) to walk around and stretch. You can get up on the flight to Rome, walk around, and stretch. If you want to reduce the time of the trans-Atlantic flight you should fly from Dallas to New York or Newark (about 3 1/2 hours) and then to Rome (about 8 1/2 hours). Your chances of getting a blood clot are too tiny to worry about unless you have a medical condition that might make one more likely. If yes you NEED to talk to your physician before flying at all. Good luck!
